A piece of photography used as a graphical image in web design

For this section of my blog I decided to use a photo of my cat Jezebel to create an ad for the cat shelter I got her from - The Sheffield Cats Abuse Treatment Society (C.A.T.S).

The photo on the right is the photograph I used for the advert in its original form.

I edited the image in Adobe Photoshop CS4 and added textures to the background, added image effects to make Jezebel look like a cartoon using a tutorial I found online. Then I added text, the name of the charity and the address and then finally using round brushes I added pawprint details.

I like the outcome of the image as it is bright and cheerful and the colours work together nicely. The photo of Jezebel made a really good cartoon and I edited the image to make it look green. I have always associated charities with the colour green because I associate green with peace. The colour green also symbolises life, nature and well being which I think works well with an animal charity.
