Editing existing graphics

Last week I decided I was bored of my desktop wallpaper and decided to find a new one. I wanted it to be pink to match my Vista theme but I couldn't find any that I liked. I came across a wallpaper of a disco ball and I loved how sparkly it was. The original image was grey and silver (see image on the right).

The image is from http://abstract.desktopnexus.com/wallpaper/51562/. I decided to use Adobe Photoshop CS4 to change the colour balance to pink on the midtones, shadows and highlights. I then changed the brightness and contrast to make my image stand out more. Below is my finished result:
